18-Channel Automatic Temperature and Velocity Scanner

The ATVS-2030 Automatic Temperature & Velocity Scanner is a patented, multi-channel hot wire anemometer system for single or multi-point measuring of humidity, surface temperature, air temperature, and velocity.

The unique, patented candlestick sensors (sold separately) are designed to be flexible, robust and low profile to minimize flow disturbance. They can be easily placed anywhere in the test domain. The use of a single sensor to measure both temperature and velocity at a single point eliminates errors introduced because of the flow being non-isothermal.

Great care is taken in the calibration process of each sensor. The system can accommodate up to 30 channels (sensors) for easy and accurate mapping of the velocity and temperature fields of the test domain and features a humidity sensor port.

Its portable design and compact dimensions make it an ideal choice for various applications. The system requires a PC for operation and interfaces with the included StageVIEW software for intuitive data acquisition and reporting.

The ATVS-2030 series is available in several models with six to 30 channels. Please see the Items in this Series section of this webpage for the different models. The number of channels will be indicated by the digits at the end of the model number.

StageView Software

ATVS StageView software automates your entire test process. This includes varying the test parameters and collecting data. The application can show which sensors are attached by scanning the ATVS unit. The user can select temperature units, velocity units, overall test duration, and if and where you want to save test data.

Run Modes

  • Easy mode: User selects data output rate, sample rate, temperature measurement duration, and velocity measurement duration.
  • Fast mode: The unit takes as many samples per second as it can with the user setting the number of temperature and velocity samples desired.

StageView software is downloaded from the ATS website.

Candlestick Sensor (Sold Separately)

The Candlestick Sensor (CS) from Advanced Thermal Solutions, Inc. (ATS), is a robust, base-and-stem design sensor that measures both air temperature and velocity for thermal characterization of electronic systems.

The low profile of the CS sensor introduces the least disturbance in the test domain. It features a polyimide-sleeved stem, which facilitates installation and repositioning during the test set-up.

Sensors are calibrated for low (natural convection) and high velocity flows. They are capable of air temperature measurements ranging from -10° to +120°C. Velocity measurements range from 0 to 50 m/s, depending on the sensor model.

Applications

  • Solid\Liquid Temperature Measurement
  • Velocity Measurement
  • Heat Sink Characterization
  • PCB Testing
  • Heat Sink Comparison
  • Wind Tunnel Testing
  • Thermal Characterization Studies
