How to Use
Only the end user has situational knowledge of where Twintec multi-tube connectors will be used. Because cost efficient applications require an understanding of how best to incorporate, install and use Twintec tubing connectors, we have a few suggestions that should help in getting the full benefit from using Twintec multi-tube connectors.
Disconnection: Exhaust all pressure before decoupling. Support the tube bundle, unscrew the collar and back the plug body away from the socket. Inspect seals for retention and condition.
Connection: Inspect surfaces for foreign materials and damage such as scratches as well as cracks and deterioration in o-rings. Align face mating geometry, engage connector while holding faces parallel. Once the plug is seated fully screw the collar until you feel resistance. This will mean that the plug face has its initial seating on the face seal o-rings. Continue tightening the collar until it does not turn further using manual force. Verify the coupling by applying side force to the plug.
Locations: Twintec multi-tube connectors are suitable for environments that are reasonably clean. Care should be taken to protect the connector from dust and debris by using Twintec dust covers whenever an open connector is exposed to possible contamination. We also supply blanking plugs and sockets for complete line isolation when testing in harsh conditions.
Mounting: Twintec multi-tube connectors should be mounted so undue stress is not affecting the connector.Heavy lines should be supported. Vertical installations with hanging tubes can work very well. Mounting considerations should include protecting the connector from collision by personnel, equipment and vehicles.
